Wargod

A simple but intense 2d action game created in two weeks! Can be completed in less than an hour.

The game itself is free, but for $1 USD, you can have the source code as well! (For Game Maker Studio 2) Features useful examples/templates for beginner developers, such as a simple pause menu, music player, custom cursor and all the art assets used in the game! Includes unused assets that didn't make it into the final product.

Story

You are a newly-anointed Wargod. Once a fallen general, your valorous deeds have impressed the Heavens... and you have been given a second chance to save your people from annihilation.

The enemy has driven your comrades to the brink. Cities have been overrun. Innocents trampled under heel. Only one last bastion of hope remains in the face of this darkness. A single stronghold, the final impediment to the enemy's dreams of conquest and tyranny. If it falls, your homeland falls with it...

And it is on its last legs.

Shatter the enemy offensive and drive them back whence they came with your newfound power! Prove your might to the Wargods of Legend, so you may be remembered for all eternity!

Details

As a Wargod, you cannot be harmed by mortal weaponry, but the same cannot be said of the people you wish to protect. Your objective is simple; score 50,000 kills while preventing the enemy forces from reaching your side of the screen. Be warned! If even one enemy soldier slips past your defenses, you lose.

At certain intervals, randomly selected enemy reinforcements (bosses) will appear. Deal with them quickly before you get overwhelmed!

Use the arrow keys to move, the Z,X,C and S keys to cast spells. More detailed instructions are included within the game itself.

Your attacks are powerful, but slow. Time them carefully.
